We are seeking a skilled Steel Erector to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
* Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to specifications and blueprints.
* Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including stick welding, to join metal components securely.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and finish metal materials.
* Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure adherence to safety standards and quality control measures.
* Collaborate with team members to execute projects efficiently while maintaining a safe working environment.
* Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication processes.
* Handle sheet metal with care, ensuring accurate assembly and installation on-site.
Experience
* Proven experience as an Steel Erector or in a similar role within the engineering or constructions industry is preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with various welding techniques and equipment is essential.
* Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively is required.
* A commitment to safety practices and the ability to work well within a team environment is crucial for success in this role.
contracts in Newark area initially then other long term ongoing contracts.
We have at least 6 months plus work for the right personnel and from then on if they are any good we will look to keep them indefinitely.
The will be required to work 10 plus hours a day and weekends when required, overtime is paid at time and a half and double time Saturday afternoon and Sundays.
We need people who can work in a controlled environment of an operational manufacturing site , safely and cleanly.
