Site Ganger

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Civils Ganger to start work for an important Civils client of ours, The work is based in the Birmingham surrounding areas in the West Midlands.
The work involved is managing Civils groundworks gangs, it will be doing: deep drainage, Excavation works, pipelaying, kerbing, tarmac, earthworks and various other groundworks.
Duties will be as follows:
* Daily work briefings, and completion of daily risk assessments
* Ensure all operatives are fit to work
* Ensure Permits are in place and signed, and drawings within appropriate dates are attached.
* Ensure Plant Inspection sheets are completed
* Encourage use of H&S app to all workers
* Check work area for new hazards
* Do appropriate safety inspections
* Check boundary fencing and gates
* Ensure the team is properly staffed and equipped for the task of the day.
* Complete daily allocation sheets.
* Ensure operatives have appropriate qualifications and tickets.
* Oversee works to ensure RAMs and permits are being compiled with and hazards remain as identified.
* Ensure the work is carried out with as little disruption as possible to the general public.
* Oversee other operations on site, such as materials delivery to ensure safety compliance.
* Ensure all plant and tool deliveries are in good order with no damages
* Check plant is locked, keys are removed and tools and mobile plant is returned at the end of each shift.
* Attend weekly site meetings as requested by senior management.
Candidates applying must have:
* CSCS Card
* Either a SSSTS or SMSTS Certificate
* 1 day emergency First Aid Qualification.
* EUSR HSG47 Card
Candidates must also have previous experience with managing groundwork gangs.
It would be advantageous if candidates also have Streetworks & digger tickets.
