An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Day Shift Lead Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical bias) to join the on-site engineering team at a prestigious commercial office building in Bunhill, working for a leading facilities management (FM) company.

This role is ideal for a senior-level building services engineer looking to step into a leadership position, working on a premium commercial site in Central London. You'll oversee day-to-day engineering operations, ensure compliance, and support a high-quality FM service delivery in a modern and client-focused environment.

Role Overview:

As the on-site Day Shift Lead, you will be responsible for:

Leading daily engineering operations on shift, ensuring all PPM and reactive works are completed efficiently and safely

*

Carrying out hands-on maintenance and fault-finding on key M&E systems, including:
– Electrical distribution, lighting, control panels, BMS
– HVAC, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and other mechanical plant

*

Monitoring site performance and supporting energy efficiency initiatives

*

Ensuring full compliance with site H&S, statutory obligations, and company procedures

*

Acting as the main point of contact for client-side facilities representatives during shifts

*

Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with management on technical improvements

What We're Looking For:

*

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC)

*

18th Edition Wiring Regs (if electrically biased)

*

Experience in commercial building maintenance, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role

*

Comfortable working with both electrical and mechanical systems

*

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

*

Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and risk assessments

Desirable (Not Essential):

*

Previous experience in a client-facing role on a high-end site

*

BMS monitoring or basic controls knowledge

*

HVAP or LVAP certification (training available)

*

Experience with CAFM systems and digital reporting tools

Package Includes:

Up to £53,500 base salary (depending on experience)

4 on 4 off day shift – 7am to 6pm
