What the Role Involves
You will be the lead point for contracts on live projects—bridging operational delivery and strategic oversight. Your remit includes driving programmes, managing cost and risk, ensuring quality and safety, and supporting bid/pre‑contract processes. Expect to work across sites, and collaborate closely with senior management, clients, and the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Own the project programme: develop, maintain and monitor schedules; identify and manage delays with mitigation strategies.
Cost & Risk oversight: control expenditure, monitor variations, ensure budget compliance; identify, assess, and mitigate risk throughout delivery.
Quality management: ensure works are delivered to specification; oversee quality assurance processes across teams and subcontractors.
Health & Safety leadership: develop and implement site safety plans, ensure compliance with legislation, drive safe working culture.
People & Communication: lead and motivate site‑based teams; maintain excellent relationships with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders.
Reporting & IT: prepare accurate, timely project updates; assist senior management with decision‑making; contribute to pre‑contract/bid work when required.
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience in a contracts or delivery lead role in construction, with proven results.
Excellent at managing programmes and budgets, with a keen eye on both risk and opportunity.
Effective communicator: confident in verbal, written, and stakeholder reporting.
Self‑motivated, organised, with leadership skills and ability to mentor others.
Proficiency with project scheduling tools and reporting systems.
Good working knowledge of current quality standards and health & safety legal frameworks.
Right to work in the UK & full driving licence.
