Specialist Civil Engineering Contractor – Warrington, Cheshire

* £80,000 to £90,000 + bens

* Hybrid (Warrington, project visits, WFH) with occasional trips to the group head officd in London

Opportunity to join a specialist civil engineering contractor, specifically within their growing concrete repairs, concrete cutting, and specialist demolition division. Based in their new Warrington office, with the option of working one or two days from home, they deliver technically challenging projects across the UK, working both as a subcontractor and principal contractor.

As their workload continues to grow, they're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and play a key role in managing the financial performance of their projects, as well as helping to complete new tender enquiries.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the full commercial lifecycle, from tender through to final account. You will work closely with project managers and site teams, ensuring strong financial control and maximising project profitability.

Key responsibilities include:

* Preparing and managing cost estimates, budgets, and valuations.

* Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

* Preparing, submitting, and agreeing interim and final accounts.

* Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations and change control.

* Preparing monthly cost/value reconciliations and commercial reports.

* Supporting tender submissions and providing accurate cost advice.

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

About You

We are seeking a commercially astute professional with the confidence to manage multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to contribute to business growth, with an open attitude to learning new sectors within civil engineering.

Essential experience/requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior QS level, within civil engineering, specialist demolition, or construction.

* Strong working knowledge of NEC as well as JCT contracts.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.

* Ability to work independently while also supporting junior team members.

* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management
