Our client, a materials and aggregates provider is looking to hire an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a contract basis, working on a cement packing plant that operates 24/7 and the role will involves electrical and mechanical maintenance of production equipment.
Due to the 24/7 operation, candidates will be required to work on rotating shift basis, covering day / afternoon / night / weekend shifts on a rotation basis. (Average of 37 hours per week)
Candidates will join a small maintenance team and be responsible for routine planned maintenance, fault finding, and ad hoc repairs to ensure continuous production.
Initial training includes shadowing experienced technicians across different shifts and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) training provided on site.
The ideal candidate will be Level 3 Electrically Qualified, with 18th Edition being advantageous to hold. The role will include both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, so applicable candidate will have working in similar environments, completed M&E maintenance to production equipment and machinery.
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
Electrical and mechanical maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
Fault finding and repair of electrical systems including LV switchgear, control gear, and variable speed drives etc.
Use of CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) for maintenance planning and reporting.
Basic PLC experience (Siemens S7 , Allen Bradley)
Safe isolation and adherence to health and safety procedures relevant to the cement manufacturing environment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with installation and commissioning activities.
Work collaboratively within a small, multi-disciplined maintenance team.
Candidate will ideally:
Have worked in a similar environment previously, maintaining machinery and equipment.
Level 3 Electrical Qualification
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Desirable)
Basic PLC experience (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley)
Be comfortable working in a production environment, on a rotating shift basis
Knowledge of process control and instrumentation / hydraulic and pneumatic systems
