The Role of the Associate Director of Fire Engineering

As an Associate Director (Fire Engineering), you will act as both a technical and strategic leader, overseeing the delivery of fire safety engineering services across diverse, medium to large-scale projects.

You will work closely with clients, ensuring projects meet the highest standards, while also shaping the long-term success and growth of the business. This role offers the chance to lead project delivery, mentor the next generation of fire engineers, and play a key part in business development and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate Director

Lead the development and delivery of high-quality fire safety strategies and designs.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term relationships across multiple sectors.
Prepare and manage project proposals, fee bids, and tenders.
Oversee budgets, timelines, and quality standards across all projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Drive innovation in fire safety practices, contributing to industry forums and thought leadership.
Support company-wide strategic goals and contribute to the growth of the business.Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Fire Engineer or Associate within a consultancy environment.
Strong technical expertise in fire safety design and compliance.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a team.
Commercial awareness, with experience in fee proposals and project management.
