Working Site Supervisor – Basingstoke
Role Overview
Working Supervisors may be referred to as Lead Hands ('Gangers'), typically overseeing a small gang of 2, or Working Foremen, who manage larger teams or multiple gangs. Candidates must have hands-on experience "on the tools" and a thorough understanding of the work they oversee.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage gangs on-site, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
Drive company van and transport gang(s) to site.
Supervise and support works including:
Pipework: concrete, ductile iron, PE (butt & electrofusion), flange pipework
Deep Drainage: shoring, sheets and frames installation
General Civils: concreting, duct laying, flagging, kerbing, manhole benching
Assist Site Managers in running smaller sites or sections of larger projects.
Maintain accurate records, site paperwork, and reporting using laptop/software where required.
Qualifications & Tickets
SSSTS / SMSTS / RASWA (Supervisor's Ticket)
Lift Supervisor
First Aid (minimum Level 3)
CPCS or NPORS Plant Tickets (e.g., Dumper, Roller, Excavator)
