Senior Engineer

A well-established specialist Tunnelling Sub-Contractor is seeking a highly competent Senior Engineer to join their team on a major tunnelling and reinforced concrete (RC) shafts package in Leeds.

This is a freelance role offering long-term security with a 12-month duration, starting 22nd September.

Rate: £350 – £450 per day

Duration: 12 months

Role Responsibilities:

*

Oversee setting out, quality control, and technical delivery of tunnelling and shaft construction works

*

Support the site team in delivering the works safely, on time, and to spec

*

Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives

*

Manage site documentation including RAMS, ITPs, RFI’s and as-builts

*

Mentor junior engineers and support the site management team

Requirements:

*

Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering, with strong exposure to tunnelling and RC works

*

Previous experience in a senior engineering role on similar packages

*

HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar

*

Strong knowledge of temporary works, QA systems, and site engineering practices

*

CSCS card and right to work in the UK

*

SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
