Hill McGlynn is proud to be working in partnership with a respected and well-established regional main contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. This role is based out of their Tonbridge office, covering projects across Kent and the South East.

With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for delivering high-quality projects, this contractor specialises in new build and refurbishment schemes across the education, healthcare, commercial, and fit out sectors.

The Role:

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial success of projects, taking responsibility from pre-construction through to final account. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you'll work closely with project managers and clients, ensuring cost control, risk management, and commercial reporting are delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

* Managing all aspects of cost control for live projects

* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages

* Preparing valuations, cost reports, and final accounts

* Liaising with site teams, consultants, and clients

* Supporting junior QS staff and contributing to the wider commercial strategy

* Ensuring compliance with contract terms and company procedures

About You:

* Strong experience in a Quantity Surveying role within a main contracting environment

* Consistent employment history demonstrating commitment and progression

* Previous experience working on education and fit out projects is highly desirable

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

* HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
