Location: Scotland (with travel across Scotland and the wider UK)
Our client, a well-established surfacing contractor, is growing and now seeking an experienced Estimator to join their busy commercial team in Glasgow. With a strong pipeline of projects, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to play a key part in the delivery of civil engineering schemes.
Key Responsibilities
As an Estimator, you will:
Manage the registration, control, and administration of tender documentation.
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates, tenders, and project packages.
Carry out risk analysis to ensure tenders are commercially viable.
Produce tender submissions, estimating reports, and monthly valuations.
Procure and manage subcontractor orders.
Engage with clients to understand project requirements and maintain strong working relationships.
Provide support with proposals and contract management.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
Work closely with senior management and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Previous experience as an Estimator within a civil engineering or sports contractor environment.
A relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience.
A solid background in civil engineering projects.
Knowledge of first-principle estimating methods.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to maximise profitability.
Good understanding of contract conditions and the tendering process.
A full UK driving licence.
