About the Role

An experienced Site Engineer is required on a 6-month contract to support a major earthworks and infrastructure project in Leeds. The role involves setting out, QA, and subcontractor coordination on a busy civils site with a focus on bulk excavation, cut and fill, drainage, and external works. You will be working for a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering regional projects across Yorkshire.

This is a freelance position with competitive day rates, flexible payment options (Ltd / CIS ), and an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out for earthworks, drainage, road formation, and utilities using GPS and Total Station

*

Volume calculations for cut and fill operations

*

Maintaining site QA records, as-built drawings, and daily reporting

*

Coordinating works with subcontractors and site management teams

*

Ensuring all work is carried out in line with HSEQ policies and method statements

*

Using AutoCAD to check and update drawings where necessary

Requirements

*

Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Site Engineer on civils/earthworks projects

*

Strong setting out skills using Leica/Trimble equipment

*

Experience in drainage, foundations, and infrastructure works

*

CSCS card (Engineer level or higher)

*

HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

*

SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid (desirable)

*

Own laptop with AutoCAD (preferred but not essential)

*

Full UK driving licence
