Mechanical Project Engineer – Site Based

A reputable MEP Contractor based in the Midlands is looking for a site based Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team. Our projects, valued up to £7,000,000, are secured through strong partnerships and competitive tendering. The company specialises in delivering innovative engineering solutions primarily in the Education and Healthcare sectors, with all projects located across the West Midlands.

Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and coordinate multiple trades under a mechanical contract. This role demands a hands-on leader to ensure seamless programme execution, efficient resource management, and compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the mechanical programme, managing multiple trades and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality completion of projects.

* Oversee procurement and timely ordering of materials, coordinating logistics to meet project schedules.

* Conduct daily and weekly operational meetings to monitor progress, resolve issues, and optimize workflow.

* Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to layout work accurately and liaise closely with contractor management teams.

* Assign and delegate tasks effectively across teams, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.

* Take a proactive leadership role in health and safety briefings including toolbox talks, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

* Utilise online project management tools to track progress, update schedules, and report status to senior management.

Experience & Qualifications

* Prior site-based experience in mechanical and electrical engineering projects is advantageous.

* Previous experience of working as site manager, site supervisor or foreman.

* Qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
