Your new role
The main responsibility of the role is to provide a responsive repair and void surveying service. The goal is to ensure that all owned and managed properties are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met. Additionally, the role aims to provide staff, residents, leaseholders, managing agencies, and property owners with a high standard of service. This position is based out of the Croydon office
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a building surveyor in a maintenance environment, handling pre- and post-inspections.
- Contract Work: Experience with SOR and non-SOR contracts.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Specifications: Ability to produce detailed work specifications.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with codes of practice, building regulations, health and safety legislation, construction and design defects, procurement law, and contract management.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in using mobile technology and IT tools like Excel and Word.
- Customer Interaction: Ability to communicate solutions confidently to customers and colleagues.
- Negotiation: Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
- Organisation: Methodical and organised approach with attention to detail.
- Contract and Budget Management: Strong skills in managing contracts and budget.
Desirable:
- Membership in professional organisations like RICS or CIOB.
- Experience working with a direct labour force and contractors.
