Quantity Surveyor
Company:
This company are a high-end refurbishment specialist who have been operating for over 50 years. They have built up an excellent reputation for the quality of their delivery, collaborative and communicative approach, their ability to retain and develop their staff and high proportion of negotiated projects. Their turnover is circa £18m – £20m and they are extremely selective about the projects they undertake and actively turn down a lot of potential projects. Most of their work is via recommendation and is negotiated on a single stage traditional JCT contract. All their work is profitable with healthy margins. By the MD’s own admission their turnover could be substantially more than what it currently is, if they adopted the approach a lot of other contractors in London have.
They deem themselves to be real specialists in what they do and are proud of their staff and their technical expertise. They strive for perfection and quality and taking on too much work would water down their ability to delivery the best possible project and would damage their very strong reputation in their marketplace. Their specialise in delivering prime residential refurbishments, commercial office refurbishments and specialist private healthcare and clinic fit outs in London.
Since their establishment, they have forged some very strong relationships in the industry, from well-known architects, PQS’ and consultants to private end users. They have built up an extremely good reputation in London for their collaborative and honest approach, their offer their client’s continuity of staff and quality driven projects.
Aside from internal strip out and refurbishments, they have successfully delivered a range of projects encompassing structural alterations, cut and carve and basement excavations on ‘postage stamp’ locations in some of the capitals most prestigious locations. Projects typically range between £1m to £5m in contract value. They also have a successful aftercare and maintenance offering for their clients.
They really pride themselves in offering their staff a platform to demonstrate their skill set and progress their career. They maintain a ‘family fee’ with regular social events. Every quarter they have external trainers coming into the business to enhance and coach their staff. They have an extremely low turnover of staff,
They also have a strong blend of youth and experience and are seeking candidates who want to join for the long term and have ambition and drive to learn, upskill and progress their careers.
