Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor – Cleanroom Projects – Remote
£95,000 – £110,000 annual salary
Fully remote role with occasional travel to Europe
We are seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial delivery of cleanroom projects across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and semiconductor industries.
This role is ideal for a commercially focused professional with deep expertise in mechanical and electrical systems within highly specialized, controlled environments. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while providing leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost plans, including interim valuations and final accounts for M&E packages.
* Oversee and manage construction contracts, particularly NEC and JCT, ensuring compliance and smooth delivery.
* Manage the procurement process for subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist M&E service providers.
* Identify and assess risks, manage variations, and resolve claims effectively.
* Work closely with clients, design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
* Prepare accurate monthly cost reports and provide commercial insights to senior management and stakeholders.
* Support and guide junior quantity surveyors, fostering professional development within the team.
Requirements:
* Strong expertise in M&E systems and construction practices for complex, controlled environments, such as cleanrooms.
* Proven experience delivering projects within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor sectors.
* Excellent working knowledge of construction contracts (NEC and JCT).
* Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in software such as CostX, Excel, and MS Project.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and client care skills.
* Ability to work independently in a remote role with travel across Europe as required.
