Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well-established and reputable main contractor based in Hatfield with a £50 million turnover is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. With a strong pipeline of work across the commercial, education, and industrial they are looking for a motivated and commercially astute individual to manage projects from tender through to final account.

The Role:

* Responsible for the full spectrum of QS duties on multiple projects ranging from £500k to £5m.

* Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, valuations, and variations.

* Conduct procurement of subcontractors.

* Work closely with site teams and directors to ensure commercial success of projects.

* Prepare interim and final accounts and manage cash flow forecasts.

* Identify and manage commercial risks.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with a UK main contractor.

* Proven track record delivering commercial, education, or residential schemes.

* Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT).

* Strong negotiation, financial management, and reporting skills.

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

* A proactive, hands-on approach with great communication and problem-solving skills.
