Highway Drainage Engineer – Contract

£40 per hour (Inside IR35, umbrella)
6 months initially rolling contract

We’re looking for experienced Highway Drainage Engineers to support essential maintenance and improvement projects across the highways network. With multiple positions available, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a stable, long-term contract on a major highways programme.

What you’ll be doing

Managing cyclic, reactive, and planned drainage works

Carrying out site inspections and surveys

Collecting and managing data on drainage assets

Responding to customer and service enquiries in a timely manner

Working closely with other highways teams to drive efficiency and improvement

What we’re looking for

BTEC Higher / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

Strong technical and problem-solving skills

Experience in highway drainage asset management and maintenance (or transferable civil engineering experience)

Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team

Contract details

Rate: £40 per hour

IR35: Inside (umbrella)

Length: 6 months initially, strong chance of extension

Start date: ASAP

Location: Derby (hybrid working)
