They are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented estimator to join their team in the physical security manufacturing industry
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for creating accurate cost estimates, analysing project requirements, and supporting the sales team with competitive pricing proposals. This position is crucial in driving project success by ensuring that bids are both accurate and aligned with client expectations and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for physical security products and installation services based on technical drawings, specifications, and project scope.
Tender & Bid Analysis: Review tender documents, blueprints, specifications, and compliance requirements to determine accurate pricing, addressing all aspects of the project, including manufacturing, materials, installation, and logistics.
Cost Breakdown: Calculate costs for materials, labour, installation, subcontracted services, and equipment, ensuring comprehensive cost structures that reflect current market rates and supplier pricing.
Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and negotiate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, hardware, and security systems to ensure competitive and reliable pricing.
Risk & Compliance Assessment: Identify potential project risks, including compliance with UK security standards (e.g., PAS 24, LPS 1175), regulatory changes, or site conditions that may impact costs.
Client Communication: Collaborate closely with clients, providing cost estimates, budget recommendations, and information on product features and installation options to meet their security requirements.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain precise records of estimates, bid submissions, and cost analysis reports, ensuring all information is accurately documented and accessible for future reference.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Project Management, and Production teams to ensure seamless alignment on project specifications, timelines, and client expectations.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, cost factors, and security standards to refine estimating processes and enhance bid accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Estimator role.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail to accurately assess costs and project requirements.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software is beneficial.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client interactions and cross-departmental collaboration.
Organisational Skills: Excellent time-management and organisational skills to handle multiple estimates and tight deadlines.

• 25 days holiday per year with 2-4 days to be reserved for Christmas shutdown
• There is a discretionary salary sacrifice pension scheme which can be joined after 3 months' service. The company will match a 2% contribution if made by the employee. If this is not taken up, auto-enrolment will start after 3 months, paying in 1% from the employee & 1 from the employer.
