Your new role
My client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to New Build Housing projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring value for money.
- Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders.
- Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Provide advice on contractual claims.
- Prepare and present detailed reports.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CostX).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
