Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electronic Systems Officer to oversee the operational running, maintenance, and development of electronic systems across multiple sites. The role will cover systems such as fire detection, access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, and programmable lighting.
You will manage routine and reactive maintenance, coordinate lifecycle upgrades, and provide specialist support to ensure systems are safe, efficient, and compliant. This position also involves participation in an on-call rota, covering one week in five.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and supervise contractors delivering services on Fire, Security, CCTV, and Access Control systems.

Develop proposals, specifications, and tender documentation for new installations and system upgrades.

Oversee installation projects and ensure contractor performance meets required standards.
*
Diagnose and prioritise repairs, using technical expertise to identify and resolve system faults.
*
Provide operational training and advice to staff on system use.
*
Manage and maintain electronic drawing records and asset registers.
*
Operate hot work/permit-to-work systems to ensure safe contractor activities.
*
Programme and manage gallery/space lighting controls to meet operational needs and minimise energy use.
*
Support senior managers with system-related projects and initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
*
Relevant HND qualification (e.g., Electronics/Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
*
Proven experience with Fire, Security, CCTV, and Access Control software and systems.
*
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
*
Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes.
*
Ability to apply technical knowledge to operation and maintenance of electronic systems.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, ordering systems, and specialist electronic software.
Desirable:

Knowledge of current technical developments and relevant legislation.
*
Experience with integrated facilities management systems.
*
Experience supporting senior management with large-scale projects.
*
Full UK driving licence.
