Quantity Surveyor
We are partnering with a prestigious 5★ NHBC-rated house builder to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for their regional office in Leeds. This is a hybrid role, primarily office-based with regular site visits across the region to oversee progress and ensure commercial control on developments.

Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor within a housebuilding environment, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of high-quality residential developments. Typical responsibilities include:
Cost Planning and Budgeting: Prepare accurate cost plans, forecasts, and budgets for new developments, ensuring all estimates align with business and project objectives.
Financial Control: Monitor and manage site expenditure, including procurement of materials, subcontractor costs, and variations to keep projects on budget.
Valuations and Payments: Assess works on site, prepare interim and final valuations, and manage timely payment processes.
Contract Management: Administer contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all agreements, purchase orders, and variations are compliant with company policies.
Reporting and KPI Management: Produce comprehensive commercial reports, status updates, and key performance indicators to keep stakeholders informed.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects comply with building regulations, internal policies, NHBC standards, and the company's quality requirements.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with site teams, project managers, housing associations, and external partners to resolve commercial or contractual issues efficiently.
Land Appraisal Support: Contribute cost information and estimates to support land acquisition and appraisal decisions.
Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities, assess alternative methods, and propose value engineering solutions to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
Site Visits: Conduct regular inspections to review progress, assess workmanship, and verify alignment with cost plans.
Who We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a regional or national house builder (essential)
Strong understanding of the financial implications of construction methods, sequencing, and build processes.
Solid commercial awareness and technical knowledge of the residential construction sector, particularly in new homes.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels.
Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the business, including site visits as required.
A full UK driving licence.
