About the Project
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead and coordinate the development or refurbishment of a care home facility. This is a high-impact role managing all aspects of the project from planning to handover, ensuring that timelines, budgets, compliance, and quality standards are met.
This role will suit a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with experience in healthcare, residential care, or senior living construction or refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full project lifecycle: planning, execution, and delivery
Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and care providers
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, building codes, and health & safety standards
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders
Identify and mitigate project risks
Ensure smooth handover and operational readiness
Writing look ahead short term programs
Chairing pre start meetings
Sequencing works to tight deadlines
Requirements
Proven experience managing construction or refurbishment projects, ideally in the healthcare or care home sector
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in care home environments (e.g. CQC, H&S regulations)
Excellent communication, budgeting, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams
Availability to travel on-site as needed
Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) preferred
