–  Rotas available: 10-4, 11-3 & 12 -2) 07.30 – 17.30 (Day Shift Hours subject to change as required)

Morson Talent is working with a major player in the Energy Sector who have an immediate requirement for an M&E Senior Construction Delivery Manager (SCDM), to join their site-based team in North Somerset. This is a unique opportunity to be involved with one of Europe's largest infrastructure construction Projects, as it transitions from civils scope to the start of commissioning.

Job Purpose / Overview

The Construction Delivery Group forms part of a fully integrated Site Construction Directorate, whose objective is to facilitate the planning and delivery of the Project as Principal Contractor, meeting the safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives for the Project.
The M&E Senior Construction Delivery Manager (SCDM) forms part of the Construction Delivery Team embedded within the Construction Delivery Group.
The M&E SCDM will have accountability for a designated programme of Works, and will cover the delivery, co-ordination, and management of ALL construction/installation works undertaken within the programme, including the following related activities: surveillance, logistics, schedule performance, planning and implementation in collaboration with the site wide logistics team, project management, reporting both internally and externally, monitoring and close out of authorities' obligations and conditions, client liaison, stakeholder management, staff management and T1 Contractor management.
The SCDM reports to the Area Construction Lead (ACL) and is supported by the Construction Delivery Lead (CDL). In collaboration with ACL, , CDM and the rest of the Delivery Team, the SCDM is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of a programme of mechanical, electrical and HVAC works and will manage the interfaces between adjoining programmes within the Project.
The SCDM will be a staunch advocate of the Project Safety culture and will help to embed this approach in all processes and activities undertaken they will also be expected to embed this culture within their team and suggest enhancements and improvements to policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the Project's safety, environmental, quality standards and schedule milestones are achieved.
The team managed by this post will grow to excess of 20 persons.
The M&E SCDM will be required to periodically, on a rota, carry out the role of "Duty Construction Manager". Full training will be given.
The M&E SCDM should look to be out on site 30% of their time and in the Office 70%, attending/leading/chairing meetings and producing reports etc, along with the overall management of their team. This ratio is for guidance only and subject to change, either way, due to circumstance at any given point.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Relevant Degree (or equivalent) in either Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or Construction.
Considerable working knowledge in the delivery of large M&E complex projects – Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be offset by demonstrable experience within Mechanical & Electrical Engineering/Construction.
Working understanding of the post holder's obligations under CDM Regulations
Management of strategic planning of site set up, construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation
Good working knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction matters
Ability to produce informative, concise reports
Motivational approach and the ability to energise team members by building a climate of trust and understanding
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Able to deliver results when working under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
NEBOSH, SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder
