Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking construction consultancy that shapes smarter, sustainable, and future-focused places and they’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Plymouth team.
You’ll be working on high-profile, impactful projects across a variety of sectors, including education, healthcare, and cultural/community spaces, helping shape places that leave a lasting mark on the community.
About the position:
Lead cost planning, value engineering, risk management, and contract administration across multiple projects.
Manage NEC, JCT, and other contract forms with confidence, ensuring commercial success.
Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, maintaining quality, timelines, and budgets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative, motivated environment.
Identify potential risks and implement proactive solutions to prevent impacts on timelines or budgets.
About you:
Minimum 2+ years PQS experience in construction consultancy.
MRICS qualification or a clear commitment to achieving chartered status.
Proven experience in budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and cost control.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, design coordination, and value engineering.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of inspiring teams and managing client expectations.
Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 and cost management software (e.g., CADMeasure, iTWO CostX).
Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
