Site Engineer

RTL Group are currently recruiting for a permanent Piling Site / Setting Out Engineer to join a respected and growing specialist piling contractor based in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a key role delivering a range of piling and deep foundation projects across the Midlands and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for CFA, rotary, or driven piling systems using Total Station and GPS

*

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and pile layouts

*

Providing accurate levels and measurements to site teams

*

Ensuring piling works are delivered to specification and tolerances

*

Keeping detailed site records, QA documentation, and as-built data

*

Coordinating with project managers, supervisors, and client engineers

*

Supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance on site

Requirements:

Needs piling experience will be office based 80% of time and visiting sites and mentoring juniors the other 20%.

Must be good with cad and overseeing the engineering information and checking it is correct

HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

*

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in piling or deep foundations

*

Proficient with setting out instruments (Total Station, GPS)

*

Valid CSCS card (essential)

*

SSSTS/SMSTS (advantageous but not essential)

*

Full UK driving licence

*

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Package:

Salary: £48,000 – £53,000 per annum (DOE)
