We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading building services consultancy in London. This contract is outside IR35 and offers the chance to work on complex, high-profile developments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience delivering hotel projects, proven ability to take ownership of designs, and a commitment to high-quality project delivery. This role is hybrid, with 4 days per week in the office.

Our client provides sustainable solutions across planning, engineering design, and project delivery within the property, infrastructure, environment, and energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Design and specification of electrical building services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.

Manage personal workload, updating forward plans regularly, and working to agreed timescales.

Produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software (Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in-house tools).

Review and check design work of team members and external designers, ensuring compliance with departmental procedures.

Prepare conceptual designs to achieve safe, practical, and economical solutions in line with current standards.

Key Requirements

Degree (or equivalent) in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Proven experience on complex projects, including Stage 5 delivery (preferred).

Proficiency in digital tools such as Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft Office; HV tools advantageous.

Awareness of building physics principles, including passive design and fabric-first approaches.

Strong communication and supervisory skills, with experience leading others.

Knowledge of current standards and ability to develop project requirements.

Highly motivated, proactive, and driven to take on new challenges.
