Role Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement standards and delivering best value. You will work alongside 4 other QSs and a procurement and pre-con team to allow you to focus on your own QS duties.
The successful candidate will be capable of working independently, taking full ownership of their workload, and delivering high-quality work with attention to detail and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full QS function across multiple projects
Prepare, submit, and agree interim valuations and final accounts
Measure and value works, including variations
Ensure contractual compliance across all projects
Liaise with site teams, clients, and subcontractors
Produce cost reports and forecasts
Monitor and control project budgets
Support commercial team with framework reporting and audit processes
What We're Looking For
A steady and consistent CV demonstrating solid QS experience, ideally with a main contractor
Strong background in public sector project delivery
Excellent understanding of compliance and procurement standards
Ability to work independently and manage workload proactively
Eye for detail with a methodical and organised approach
Confident communicator who can build relationships with clients and internal teams
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Desirable Experience
Experience delivering projects under public sector frameworks
Exposure to both framework and competitively tendered projects
Salary & Benefits
£50,000 – £70,000 (inclusive of car allowance) – preference for middle band to allow for progression
