Hseq Manager
Location: St Albans (travel to sites required)

Salary: £70,000–£80,000 basic plus package
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and proactive HSEQ Manager to join a well-established contractor. This role is critical to maintaining high standards of health, safety, environment, and quality across both FM and project teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO standards, maintaining HSEQ systems, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain Management System documents in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.

Update and review policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
*
Assist in creating HSEQ plans and contribute to business strategy.
*
Conduct risk assessments and implement cost-effective measures to reduce risk.
*
Produce monthly management reports for Directors.
*
Deliver staff briefings, toolbox talks, newsletters, and training sessions.
*
Maintain and implement the Company’s Health and Safety Training Matrix.
*
Conduct regular workplace inspections and site audits.
*
Ensure FM and project documentation is complete, current, and well organised.
*
Consult efficiently with clients and produce project CPHSPs and reports.
*
Assist with PQQs, tender submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
*
Be flexible and travel to multiple sites as required (overnight stays possible).
*
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role under the guidance of Directors and Project Managers.
Skills and Experience Required
*
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
*
Auditing qualification.
*
Environmental management qualification.
*
Strong communication and presentation skills.
*
Ability to influence, persuade, and coach staff across the business.
*
Broad knowledge of risk assessment practices.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and online training platforms.
*
Full clean UK driving licence
