About the Opportunity

We are working in partnership with a leading Tier One main contractor who are seeking to appoint a Pre-Construction Manager to join their business in central London

This organisation has a strong reputation for delivering complex projects across multiple sectors, with an emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and building long-term client relationships. Their approach is centered on early client engagement, ensuring projects are carefully developed and de-risked during the pre-construction stages before moving seamlessly into delivery.

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping projects from the outset, with a particular focus on first and second stage PCSAs. This is a client-facing position requiring excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to lead the pre-construction process and bring together internal teams, consultants and the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Lead pre-construction activity on single or multiple projects, driving the first and second stage PCSA process.

Review tender and client information, developing clear and competitive bid strategies.

Input into resource planning, tender programmes, and delivery schedules.

Lead and coordinate pre-construction meetings, both internally and externally.

Carry out site visits to assess opportunities and constraints that may impact delivery.

Engage directly with clients, consultants, and the supply chain to collaboratively develop solutions.

Work with design and delivery teams to produce construction methodologies and logistics plans.

Coordinate closely with planners, estimators, and commercial managers to align programme, methodology, and commercial strategy.

Manage risk and opportunity registers throughout the pre-construction phase.

Support the preparation of tender presentations and attend client interviews.

Ensure effective knowledge transfer to delivery teams at project launch.

Oversee second stage tender activities through to contract award.

Feed lessons learned from live projects back into future bids.

About You

Strong understanding of how to positively influence health and safety through design and methodology.

Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills; able to align offers and add demonstrable value to projects.

Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire confidence and credibility across clients, consultants, supply chain, and internal teams.

Confidence to challenge and refine construction methodologies and sequencing.

Solid project management and construction management experience.

Strong commercial, analytical, and organisational skills.

Experience preparing methodology and quality content for tender submissions.

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Degree qualification or equivalent experience.

Salary: up to £95,000 + excellent benefits package
