Position: Project Manager

Location: Abingdon with hybrid working available

Salary: £60-70k (Neg DOE), car/allowance and excellent benefits package

Our Client: Is a Tier 1 D&B contractor operating predominantly in the water industry and are a strategic partner to Thames Water for AMP7 and AMP8 on capital frameworks across the Thames Water supply treatment regions. They deliver design & build services for new and existing non-infrastructure assets.

The Role: Working with a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery, through all stages, from design to handover, on a wastewater treatment scheme valued at up to £40m.

Responsibilities: Overall project reporting.

Implementation and monitoring of SHE policies and procedures.

Engage with direct and supply chain workforce on H&S and Wellbeing.

Selection of Civil and M&E supply chain and package scope based on technical and commercial judgement.

Accountability for design integration of civil and M&E package plants and associated control and automation.

Programme ownership and advice to the Project Planner.

Promote collaborative planning with the client and suppliers to maintain a common focus on key outputs and deliverables with appropriate escalation as risks occur.

Promote cross framework resource sharing working collaboratively with other managers to create one-team ethos.

Managing people the right way, encouraging and supporting opportunities for development.

Line management duties of project engineers, commissioning engineers, mechanical and electrical supervisors.

Accountability for commercial forecast on the scheme, ensuring robust control of actual costs.

Participate in forecast reviews, final cost & value review with the commercial team.

Identify opportunities to increase value through effective change management, ensuring instructions are received and processed to realise a change to target cost as applicable.

Identify project risks and opportunities along with implementing mitigation and

realisation measures respectively.

Promote a right first-time culture.

Maintain quality standards set out in the project execution, inspection and testing plans (ITP), ensuring works are delivered in accordance with relevant specification and standards with a proactive approach to non-conformance.

Effective project handover.

Timely closure of actions generated from safety, quality and environmental audits.

Experience: Experience within the water/wastewater industry

Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering

People and project management skills

Commercial awareness

Full driving licence
