Cityscape Recruitment

About the company

This is a London-based creative collective operating in the office and workplace interiors space, combining in-house expertise across design, furniture, AV, architecture, managed services and delivery. They take on both landlord and occupier projects, which gives them a sharp sense of market trends and a strong foundation of insight. The culture is one of collaboration and craftsmanship, where design thinking and practical delivery work hand in hand, and where the end goal is not just beautiful space but highly usable environments that elevate wellbeing, productivity and community.

About the role

The Project Director will be accountable from early stage, pre-construction, through to successful handover of design & build workplace and office fit-out projects. You will lead a multidisciplinary team overseeing design development, cost planning, procurement, contractor selection and management, logistical planning, quality control, health & safety, and all the phases of delivery. You will liaise with clients, architects, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure that designs are both imaginative and buildable, that budgets and programmes are met, and that the finished projects reflect both functional requirements and brand values. You will also have oversight of risk management throughout the lifecycle of each project, making sure the handover is seamless and client satisfaction is achieved. As Project Director you will act as a strategic touch-point with senior stakeholders, guiding decision-making, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment between commercial, design, and delivery objectives.

Rewards and benefits

In return you’ll be joining a firm that values both design quality and delivery rigour, where your impact will be visible on every project you lead. You will be offered a competitive senior-level salary commensurate with experience, with bonus potential tied to performance, project delivery and client satisfaction. There will be significant autonomy in how you run your projects, supported by senior leadership who trust in your judgement. You will have access to high profile and varied projects, exposure to creative and design-led briefs, and the opportunity to grow your influence across strategy, commercial decision-making and design innovation. Benefits are likely to include pension contributions, holiday allowance, and the chance to work in an environment that champions wellbeing, innovation and excellence in workplace design.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have substantial experience leading design & build projects end to end, ideally in commercial fit-out, office interiors, or workplace transformation. You must be adept in pre-construction disciplines: cost estimating, design coordination, procurement strategy. You will have proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, on budget, to high quality, and with strict focus on health & safety and compliance. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential, as you will be managing internal teams, contractors, clients and consultants, often resolving tension between design ideals and commercial realities. Strong organisational and planning skills are required, with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects and anticipate risks before they materialise. A degree in architecture, construction management, quantity surveying or related discipline is desirable, or equivalent demonstrable experience
