About the role

As Head of Business Development, you will spearhead the company’s growth strategy by building new revenue streams and expanding the client base within the commercial fit-out market. You will lead the business development team and collaborate closely with senior leadership, pre-construction, design and delivery teams to shape proposals that reflect the company’s brand and values. Your responsibilities will include identifying high-value opportunities, cultivating key relationships with agents, landlords, property developers and occupiers, and overseeing the end-to-end bid process. You will be instrumental in developing the sales pipeline, influencing strategy, tracking market trends, and ensuring that proposals are not only compelling but commercially sound. You will act as a senior ambassador for the business, representing it to external stakeholders, strengthening the company’s presence in key markets, and guiding the future direction of business development efforts.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have proven experience at a senior business development level within commercial fit-out or a closely related sector. You must be comfortable leading teams, managing senior stakeholders, and delivering against ambitious targets. A strong track record of winning and growing business through both new client acquisition and relationship building is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills will be imperative, as will commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to understand both design-led briefs and financial constraints. You should be comfortable working collaboratively across internal teams to ensure proposals are aligned with delivery capabilities and profitability. A relevant degree or professional qualification is desirable, although demonstrable experience will carry significant weight
