Drylining Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Drylining Estimator to join a busy and growing construction consultancy/project delivery team for one of our major clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating all aspects of drylining work including board, jointing, metal stud framing, suspended ceilings, and associated materials and labour. This role requires strong technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for drylining works from drawings, specs, and site surveys.

* Review architectural, structural, mechanical & electrical drawings to identify drylining scope.

* Produce accurate take-offs of materials, labour, plant, and subcontractors as required.

* Liaise with suppliers to obtain material pricing and lead times.

* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, design teams to ensure alignment.

* Identify risks, potential cost overruns, and propose mitigation strategies.

* Provide regular updates and revised estimates as designs are developed.

* Assist in tender submissions, ensuring all costs are properly accounted for.

* Maintain and improve estimating tools, databases and benchmark cost models.

Requirements

* Proven experience estimating drylining / partitioning / suspended ceilings in a commercial or large-scale residential environment.

* Excellent understanding of drylining systems, metal stud work, acoustic linings, fire protection, etc.

* Ability to read and interpret specifications, architectural and structural drawings.

* Strong numeracy skills, commercial awareness, ability to derive accurate costings.

* Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Proficient in estimating / take-off software (e.g. Bluebeam, Planswift, CAD, etc) and Microsoft Office.

* Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

* Valid CSCS card / equivalent desirable.
