Job Title: Clerk of Works (Demolition)

Contract: 3–6 months (initial)
Rate: £25–£30 per hour (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee a large-scale high-rise demolition project on behalf of a local authority near Glasgow. This is a key role ensuring that demolition works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and inspect demolition activities on-site to ensure compliance with specification, drawings, health & safety regulations, and statutory requirements.

Maintain detailed records of site activity, progress, and contractor performance.
*
Report regularly to the client team on quality, safety, and programme matters.
*
Identify and escalate any issues, risks, or deviations from the agreed scope of works.
*
Liaise closely with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure best practice and smooth project delivery.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Clerk of Works (or similar role) on major demolition projects, ideally high-rise or large-scale urban schemes.
*
Strong knowledge of demolition methods, health & safety legislation, and environmental considerations.
*
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
*
Ability to work independently and represent the client’s interests on site.
