Overview:
An established and well-respected main contractor / Developer with a strong track record in residential refurbishment is looking to appoint an Estimator, ideally with a degree of Seniority. This is a newly released, business-critical role – offering the opportunity to make a real impact and shape how pre-construction is managed moving forward.

The Role:
This is a purely estimating role, sitting within the Commercial Department alongside the surveying and buying teams, and reporting directly to the Commercial Director.

Workload typically includes Kitchens, Bathrooms, Retrofit, externals, installations, and internal refit schemes, usually for Registered Providers and local councils

*

All projects are grant-funded, and the focus is on high-quality, cost-effective refurbishment solutions

*

Expect to manage around 5–6 tenders per year, with each typically taking around 2 months to price

*

Working from Bills of Quantities, you’ll play a key part in shaping the contractor’s bids for key frameworks and negotiated work

*

The company recognises the value of this role more each day — the current Surveyor is covering both roles, so there’s urgency to hire

Ideal Candidate:

*

A qualified and experienced Estimator, ideally with a background in social housing or public sector refurbishment

*

Comfortable working autonomously and contributing as part of a close-knit commercial team

*

Methodical, commercially minded, and experienced in pricing works on tight margins and fixed budgets
