Quantity Surveyor – Glasgow
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor, working on a range of projects across central Scotland. This role will be based in Glasgow and offers the chance to play a key part in delivering high-quality construction schemes while ensuring commercial success.
The Role
You’ll work closely with operational teams, providing commercial and contractual support throughout all stages of a project. From cost planning and financial reporting through to managing subcontractor accounts, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring projects remain commercially viable and are delivered within budget and programme.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear and timely commercial advice to operational management.
Prepare and present accurate cost reports, forecasts, and value reconciliations.
Manage subcontractor procurement and accounts, ensuring best value is achieved.
Monitor progress on site and issue contractual notices as required.
Maximise valuations and ensure payments are secured on time.
Support with estimating and tender submissions when required.
Promote best practice in health, safety, and quality compliance across all activities.
About You
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry (main contracting preferred).
Strong knowledge of contracts, valuations, and cost control processes.
Ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
