Senior Quantity Surveyor

We’re recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an exciting and diverse contractor who value people progression, career opportunities, sustainability and construction excellence. The business is working on some of the UK’s leading infrastructure projects in civils, marine and water and is set to break turnover records this year with even more in the pipeline for next year.

Upon joining the business, you will take the lead on a £20m project, with a programme of circa £1m turnover per month. The project is a feat of engineering, with technical and logistical challenges of working off barges and battling the tides through different seasons.

There is a clear route of progression from Senior Quantity Surveyor to MQS and beyond within the regional office, as further projects are awarded and the area grows, they are looking to promote from within – preferably from this role, given the opportunity to showcase your ability on the first project and learn the ins and outs of the business.

It is essential you have worked on civil engineering projects using NEC contracts. You will not be considered for the role if you have not worked in this sector.

Senior Quantity Surveyor duties:

* Working with the project team to record costs, change and variation

* Minimise cost and risk of the project and enhance value for money

* Provide commercial support to the engineering staff

* Manage costs and budget in line with the NEC contract

* Raise early warning notices, compensation events

* Forecasting and CVR’s
