Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor to join a leading social housing provider in West Yorkshire. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of residents by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving damp, mould, and condensation issues across the housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed inspections of residential properties to assess damp, mould, and condensation issues.
Diagnose root causes and produce evidence-based reports and recommendations.
Prepare schedules of work and liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely and effective remediation.
Carry out a range of surveys including disrepair, voids, and general maintenance where required.
Engage with residents during visits, providing clear explanations and advice on managing and preventing damp and mould.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and actions using housing management systems.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and internal quality standards.
Requirements:
HNC, HND, or equivalent technical qualification in Building Surveying or a related field (RICS membership desirable).
Proven experience in damp and mould diagnostics, ideally within a social housing or local authority setting.
Strong understanding of housing construction, building pathology, and remedial solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with tenants.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
