Shift Maintenance Technician
Are you a highly skilled and proactive multi-skilled maintenance technician seeking a challenging role in a critical healthcare environment? We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our client's team on a continental shift pattern, providing essential maintenance services to a busy London hospital estate.
This is a key role for a hands-on engineer who is competent in both electrical and mechanical systems. You will be a vital part of a team responsible for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of critical infrastructure, ensuring the comfort and safety of both patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Perform both planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive repairs on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Electrical Duties: Carry out diagnostics and repairs on electrical plant, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems.
Mechanical Duties: Service and maintain mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs), pumps, valves, and associated pipework.
Specialised Systems: Work on critical systems specific to a healthcare environment, such as medical gas plant, nurse call systems, and sterilisation equipment (where trained).
Water Hygiene: Conduct routine temperature monitoring, flushing, and other water hygiene tasks in line with ACoP L8 guidelines to prevent the risk of Legionella.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and hospital-specific policies, particularly those related to Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs).
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and incidents using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Candidate Profile
Experience: Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a hospital, critical, or large commercial environment is desirable
Qualifications: A formal qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade (Electrical or Mechanical).
Skills: Exceptional fault-finding and diagnostic skills across both electrical and mechanical systems.
Availability: Must be able to work a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, including both days and nights.
