The Senior Building Surveyor's Role
As the Senior Building Surveyor, you will take ownership of projects from inception to completion, working autonomously but also collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of construction professionals. You will work closely with clients, design teams, and stakeholders, delivering projects on time and to budget, while maintaining the highest standards of client satisfaction.
The role will see you:
Leading and managing projects of varied size and complexity
Preparing project designs, tender documentation and acting as Contract Administrator
Advising clients on procurement and delivering technical reports
Leading condition and measured surveys, dilapidations, and party wall matters
Overseeing statutory approvals and managing RIBA Plan of Works stages
Supporting junior colleagues through mentoring and technical guidance
Driving business development through client relationship management
The Successful Senior Building Surveyor Will Have
Qualifications
Degree qualified (RICS accredited or equivalent)
Ideally Chartered, or actively working towards chartership
Knowledge and Attributes
Strong project delivery experience across multiple sectors
Ability to lead complex projects through the full lifecycle
Confident in client-facing roles with excellent communication skills
Knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations
Proactive in mentoring and developing junior team members
Ability to generate new opportunities and strengthen client relationships
