About Us

TJ Hazell has been providing civil and structural engineering services for over 45 years. We are part of the Wolviston Group, a trusted partner to clients across construction, energy, petrochemical, and infrastructure sectors.

We are now launching a new Claims, Quantity Surveying & Contracts Services division, headed by our Group MD, dual-qualified Quantity Surveyor and Construction Law professional, RICS Adjudicator, accredited Expert Witness, and former HKA consultant.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us at the start of this journey and play a key role in shaping the division.

The Role

As Senior QS – Claims & Contracts, you will:

Prepare, defend, and manage claims (delay, disruption, loss/expense, variations).

*

Draft, review, and negotiate NEC / JCT / FIDIC contracts.

*

Support adjudication and arbitration cases with forensic analysis.

*

Deliver pre- and post-contract cost management, forecasting, and value engineering.

*

Advise clients on risk, procurement strategies, and commercial management.

*

Contribute to business development and client presentations.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

*

8+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management (civils, infrastructure, or major build).

*

Strong claims and contracts experience, ideally with exposure to disputes or adjudication.

*

Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts (FIDIC desirable).

*

Excellent written and client-facing communication skills.

*

RICS or CIOB membership preferred; LLM or adjudication/claims training an advantage.
