Site Manager (Food Production Facility Fit-Out)

We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Site Manager for a challenging and rewarding contract role in Ashford, Kent. You will be responsible for overseeing the complete fit-out of an existing warehouse, transforming it into a state-of-the-art food production facility.

This project demands a manager with a strong background in environments where hygiene, specialised drainage, and contamination control are paramount. You will be the number one person on-site, responsible for driving the project forward safely, on schedule, and to the exacting standards required by the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage all day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring the project is delivered on time and to the highest quality standard.

* Take full responsibility for site Health & Safety, including conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and ensuring all RAMS are in place and being followed.

* Direct and coordinate all subcontractors, ensuring their work complies with the project specifications and stringent hygiene protocols.

* Oversee the installation of critical systems, including specialist stainless-steel drainage, resin flooring, and hygienic wall cladding (e.g., Whiterock).

* Liaise closely with the Project Manager, client representatives, and design teams to resolve any technical queries or on-site issues.

* Maintain accurate site records, including a daily diary, progress photos, and subcontractor documentation.

* Ensure the site is kept clean, tidy, and organised at all times to meet the high standards of the end client.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Proven experience as a Site Manager (No.1 on-site) on commercial fit-out projects with a value of £1M+.

* Essential: Demonstrable experience working on projects within the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or clean-room sectors. You must understand the principles of hygienic construction.

* Strong technical knowledge of internal fit-out, with specific experience in managing drainage and M&E packages.

* An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to achieving a perfect finish.

* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive a site team effectively.

* A proactive problem-solver who can think on their feet.

Mandatory Qualifications:

* Valid SMSTS Certificate (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

* Valid CSCS Card (Black preferred)

* First Aid at Work Certificate
