Geotechnical General Manager

This challenging and exciting opportunity requires a senior individual from within the earthworks, geotechnical engineering, ground improvement – stabilisation or foundations sectors.

Due to continued growth, a significant increase in workload and several ongoing long term framework contracts, our client is now looking to appoint a Geotechnical General Manager. Reporting to the Operations Director, the main purpose of this role will be to act as the geotechnical authority to the group through effective general management, liaison with suppliers, sub-contractors and clients, and team leadership.

The Role

* Monitoring project commercial performance, seeking opportunities to increase value through change and mitigate risk to ensure successful financial outcomes.

* Manage and oversee the day-to-day scheduling of site teams to ensure maximum efficiency.

* Provide geotechnical expertise and guidance during the tender and construction phases of projects, including detailed GI data interpretation, specification reviews and adherence to client driven programs

* Oversee the production of earthwork strategies in line with client specifications.

* Review geotechnical results to ensure performance specification and frequencies are achieved on all projects.

* Produce validation reports following project completion.

* Attend client meetings when required.

* Support pre-construction, procurement, construction, post-construction phases

* Ability to direct multiple teams on site and complete work to required standards and on time.

* Manage a team of geotechnical professionals

* Manage the commercial performance of all projects.

* Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to work in a methodical and calm manner whilst under pressure.

* Good attention to detail.

* Conscientious, presentable and punctual.

* Self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic.

* A motivator of others who is able to evaluate problems or issues and offer solutions

* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being able to relate to people at all levels in an organisation, and to establish and maintain respect
