Site Foreman / Site Manager – Highways Scheme (Somerset)

We are seeking a Site Foreman / Site Manager to oversee flood alleviation works in Somerset. The scheme involves excavations of up to 2.5m alongside the highway, installation of plastic pipework with shingle bedding, and associated drainage works to reduce flooding risk. The project is set to commence in October.

The Role:

Manage a small team of approximately 15 operatives.

Report directly to the Site Agent, acting as the link between management and operatives.

*

Ensure works are delivered safely and in line with RAMS and programme.

*

Write daily reports, manage deliveries, place orders, and maintain records via tablets/software.

*

Be hands-on, supporting on-site activities when required.

*

Day and night positions available (night roles paid at time and a third).

Requirements:

Previous highways experience (essential).

*

Experience managing teams on site.

*

Capable of writing reports and using tablets/software.

*

Knowledge of drainage works and flood alleviation advantageous.

*

Valid driving licence
