Civils Contract Manager – Enabling, Muck Shift & Remediation
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 per annum + package (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
📋 Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Civils Contract Manager to oversee enabling works, bulk earthworks (muck shift), and remediation projects across Yorkshire and the North of England. This is a key leadership role within a growing specialist contractor, offering the opportunity to manage complex ground preparation schemes from pre-construction through to handover.
🔧 Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple civils contracts, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery
*
Oversee enabling works including site clearance, access roads, compound setup, and temporary works
*
Lead muck shift operations, coordinating plant, haulage, and disposal routes
*
Supervise remediation activities including soil treatment, validation, and regulatory compliance
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, and statutory bodies to ensure smooth project progression
*
Prepare and review RAMS, programmes, and progress reports
*
Manage subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety
*
Monitor budgets, variations, and contractual obligations
*
Support tendering and estimating with technical input and site assessments
✅ Requirements
*
Proven experience in civils contract management, ideally within enabling, earthworks, or remediation
*
Strong understanding of bulk excavation, soil classification, and waste management protocols
*
Excellent leadership and communication skills
*
Commercial awareness and experience managing NEC or JCT contracts
*
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid certification desirable
*
Full UK driving licence
