Quantity Surveyor – Civil Construction
Our client is a well-established construction contractor specialising in civil engineering and groundworks projects across Scotland. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of civil engineering and groundworks projects, ensuring profitability and value for money while maintaining the highest standards of compliance. You will be involved from tender stage through to final accounts, working closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, manage, and value contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.

Monitor project costs, reporting on variations and contractual matters.
*
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance.
*
Provide accurate monthly valuations, cost forecasting, and reporting.
*
Ensure projects are delivered within budget and aligned with client requirements.
*
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering and/or groundworks.
*
Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
*
Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts (advantageous).
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (preferred).
*
Full UK driving licence.
