Civils Works Manager
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading and privately owned construction company who are currently looking for a Works Manager to join their team in the Hampshire area.
The salary is up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus a Company Car/Car Allowance and a Fantastic Benefits Package.
You will be reporting directly to the Divisional Manager.
Key Responsibilities required for this position include:
* Ensuring that labour is on site and that works are being carried out effectively, correctly and to specification and that an accurate daily and monthly reports are compiled.
* Carry out weekly cost reconciliations of plant, labour and material to ensure projects are managed efficiently.
* Book any required road space with local authorities and attend on site meeting’s with LA engineers.
* Order and organise all material and plant call offs.
* Assess the scope of works prior to commencement.
* To ensure personnel have the correct equipment and PPE to carry out the work.
* To compile individual works program inline with the projects need.
* Represent the company at pre and post tender, pre-start, progress and final account meetings with external individuals.
* Represent the company at internal company meetings e.g. handover meetings and cost meetings with internal individuals.
* Administer the contract and projects to accommodate external statutory bodies e.g. SEPA, HSE, Local Authorities and statutory service providers.
* To pre-plan and manage all onsite works including contractors , sub-contractors and third parties
* Ensure projects are managed safely ,proactively and efficiently
* Ensure materials are called off and costed on a weekly basis.
* Ensure health and safety and quality inspections are carried out to demonstrate compliance with project requirements and industry standards
* Produce and maintain weekly project programmes
* Produce progress reports and chair progress for both build and technical meetings
* Scoping and procurement of work packages along with project QS
Key Skills & Experience required for the position include:
* At least 5 year’s experience working as a Works or Site Manager role in the Civils Sector
* Experience and knowledge of building regulations
* Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering
* Strong Leadership Skills, a positive attitude and strong work ethic as well as ability to develop relationships with other staff and Clients
* Ability and willingness to work as part of a team or individually
* Commitment to continued professional development
* NVQ Level 4 or 5 In Construction Management
* SMSTS
* CSCS Card
* Full UK Driving License
* Right to work in the UK
