Build Manager (Telecoms)
Build Manager (Telecoms) – Up to £300 per day – Ongoing Contract
Applicants will need to live within 1 hour of Oxford, but be happy to commute UK wide.
Our client offers custom-built Wireless and Fibre communication solutions to meet their clients specific requirements across many different sectors throughout the UK.
As the Build Manager, your role will be to work within Operations and support the Project Delivery teams by managing the end-to-end tasks across all build activities.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
* Encourage and create a teamwork culture throughout the project team.
* Plan and deliver the client programmes across design and build ensuring procedure is followed and KPI’s are met.
* Ensure that the team delivers the build programme within guidelines, standards and client specifications.
* Performance manage the build teams.
* Report daily and accurately on the delivery programmes.
* Adhere to all process maps in ensuring the work is delivered on time and to budget.
* Escalate any commercial issues on the build where a potential loss of profit is expected.
* Manage the client account and build relationships within the client’s team.
* Escalate any known Design programme issues to the design programme manager and the Programme Director.
Build
* Manage all build, install delivery reports, and ensure the programmes are delivered to the forecast and agreed programme.
* Manage the client’s expectations and report regularly to the client on the programme progress.
* Take ownership of the site and deliver the required solution within the excepted time frame.
* Set up and report regularly on planned and actual deliverables across the build programmes.
* Ensure all the correct documentation is issued to the teams and subcontractors working on site.
* Ensure the programme is delivered to a high Quality and standards.
* Ensure all tasks and milestones are met in line with the build process.
* Interface with the Build QS to ensure all costs and CR are captured in a timely manner.
* Ensure all jobs have a budget and the programmes is working to that budget.
Training and Development
* Motivate, plan, co-ordinate, maintain and develop staff to undertake current and prospective workloads.
* Participate and actively encourage both Company training courses and on the job training.
* Monitor and record individual performances on an ongoing basis together with annual appraisals.
Skills & Knowledge criteria:
Essential:
* Significant experience in installing RF/Wireless systems.
* Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety Policy
* Ability to manage subcontractor relationships
* Able to manage multiple projects at any one time.
* Strong track record in customer-facing role
