Site Engineer
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-driven Freelance Site Engineer to join our delivery team on a range of commercial and residential projects. Working with a leading main contractor, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring works are set out accurately, progress is tracked properly, and technical information is clearly communicated across the team.

Key Responsibilities

Setting Out: Accurately set out works on-site using robotic total stations, GPS, and traditional methods
*
Site Supervision Support: Assist the site and project managers with day-to-day coordination and oversight of subcontractors
*
QA & Compliance: Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
*
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of site progress, measurements, and materials used
*
Technical Support: Liaise with design teams, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries
*
Handover Preparation: Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and QA documentation for project close-out
*
Health & Safety: Support the implementation of site safety policies, RAMS reviews, and toolbox talks
Requirements
*
Degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
*
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role (main contractor or tier 1 subcontractor background preferred)
*
Strong knowledge of setting out, surveying tools and software (e.g. AutoCAD, Leica, Trimble, Total Station)
*
Good understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and technical drawings
*
Up-to-date CSCS card (Engineer or higher)
*
SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred but not essential)
*
First Aid (desirable)
*
Full UK Driving Licence
